Not well-known for being a winter holiday destination, Australia is a sun-soaked country that is graced with the addition of several snow-covered areas. Compared to the mountains in North America and Europe, the ski areas in Australia are perfect for beginners and intermediates with long gentle runs lined with snow topped gum trees all abilities can enjoy a marvellous snow exploration. On the pistes the snow reliability is good and is supported with additional investments into snow making facilities and the resort keep their pistes well and immaculately groomed. Other than fabulous on slope activities which can be undertaken you will also find a lively après scene especially at the weekends with other snow adventures available such as cross-country skiing which is becoming very popular. For accommodation there are a lot ‘on snow’ villages with many resorts having ski in ski out accommodation, which makes Australia a great country for family friendly ski holidays. But be aware this will not be a cheap holiday as there are high prices for all aspects including food and drink.
