Spain is certainly one of the world’s most overlooked countries for a winter holiday with access to the southern side of The Pyrenees, hosting most of Spain’s ski resorts. From here you have access to a great range of terrain, from beginner to advanced slopes which are comparable to the Alps. The only resort in Spain which is not in The Pyrenees is Sierra Nevada which is only 50km from the coast but is sure to impress with its snow coverage and high altitude of over 3,000 metres. Compared to The Alps Spanish skiing is very good value for money with lift passes and accommodation being considerably cheaper. The relaxed culture found at these resorts are paired with fantastic food and drink which can be found anywhere within the resort including up the mountain. You can also have a fantastic lunch stop during your ski day to soak up some of the classic Spanish sunshine during the Spring months at any of the mountain restaurants in their many deckchairs.
