WHAT MAKES TAXI MORZINE A CUT ABOVE THE REST?
The airport transfer market is full of faceless, larger companies with impersonal booking services using seasonal drivers with little local knowledge and often no grasp of the French language. At Taxi Morzine each enquiry is dealt with by Jo and followed through until final confirmation – no detail is overlooked. Your driver is often either Jo or Yannick, or at peak times to avoid disappointment we use one of our colleagues from Morzine with the same high level of experience and local knowledge.
WHO ARE WE?
Taxi Morzine is a limited company registered in Morzine, France run by bi-lingual husband and wife team Jo and Yannick Citadelle. Jo moved from Lancashire to Morzine in 1992 and after several years in the hotel trade decided to join her husband in the taxi/transport venture by obtaining her CPC International Passenger Transport Qualification. Just for your information, Jo is still partial to tasty Lancashire cheese if you have room in your luggage.
Yannick, Morzinois through and through, followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming one of just 12 taxi license holders in Morzine. After many years in the wood trade and teaching at the Morzine ESF school he is now happily behind the wheel on a full time basis.
Yannick can also be found at the Morzine taxi rank most evenings in winter, and he has some rather amusing tales to tell about that side of the job.
In May 2011 Jo Citadelle became the first British national to successfully pass the National and Haute-Savoie Taxi Drivers exam.
Both Yannick and Jo hold the D license in order to drive our large 15 seater minibus.
Over the past few years we have had the pleasure of having wonderful drivers working for us during the season. From Mikael the cool, calm Swede, to Alain our sprightly young man from Les Gets, we only employ people we trust with our vehicles and more importantly, our clients.
Together Jo and Yannick are Taxi Morzine, continuing the family taxi activity which has flourished for over 30 years.
“OUR VEHICLES”
Up to 8 passengers
Recently we abandoned the regular Renault Trafic minibuses and upgraded to VW Caravelle 9 seater minibuses. We believe that as the client is paying for a quality private transfer service the standard of comfort and reliability should be reflected in the use of the vehicle. Not only are these vehicles far superior as far as comfort is concerned but the main reason is that with four wheel drive there is no more messing around with snow chains or those worrying climbs up the mountain when the snow begins to fall. As Jo can be heard to say frequently in winter “I can climb trees in this car!” Please be reassured she hasn’t attempted this feat….
Up to 15 passengers
We bought a Renault Master in 2009 and this has proved a huge success . The minibus can transport up to 15 passengers which means that families and friends are not split up in two vehicles. No time wasting at the airport or on departure day sorting out who goes in which minibus! Evidently there is ample room in the bus for all luggage, boards and skis with a trailer available for those “heavy laden” clients!
The extras
Car seats for all younger passengers are available at no extra charge in accordance to European Law. Just let us know the kids’ ages when you book.
All our vehicles start the season with quality snow tyres and are often changed during the season so even when the snow surprises us in April we are ready to bring you safely up (and down) the mountain.
